What can I replace my 12V Halogen light bulbs with?
LED is here and it's the only way. The problem is, with low-voltage halogen down-lighting. The old lamps used a hefty 50W each and now they only use 4-6W. Which can often mean that the transformers in the ceiling aren't built for the task. All transformers have a lower limit to the load they can supply. Some transformers only go as low as 20W so what you're left with is flickering and reliability issues. What we recommend, is the replacement of the fitting to a fire-rated GU10 part, with a 5W LED lamp. Doing away with the need for a transformer at all.
